OUR FIRM

Our attorneys have practiced in state and federal courts across the Southeast including Georgia, North Carolina, Virginia and Florida as well as in Texas and Illinois.  We have briefed and argued numerous cases in the South Carolina Court of Appeals and South Carolina Supreme Court as well as in the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.  We are also a member of the United States Supreme Court Bar.

Attorneys

Robert T. Lyles Jr. 

Robert T. Lyles, Jr. has focused his practice on construction and related insurance litigation and trials since 1990 and has represented owners, developers and general contractors, design professionals and product manufacturers.  He has been lead trial counsel in over 50 jury trials in state and federal courts, many of which involved complex issues and damages in excess of $1,000,000. 

 

After leaving Ogletree, Deakins, Nash, Smoak & Stewart in 2000, where he was an equity partner, he became a founding partner of Lyles & Associates in Charleston, South Carolina. Mr. Lyles graduated from the College of Charleston in 1984 and the University of South Carolina, with his J.D., in 1987. He is a South Carolina Bar Certified Mediator and a member of the American Bar Association, South Carolina Bar, the Defense Research Institute and the South Carolina Defense Trial Attorneys’ Association. He is admitted to the Bar of the United States Supreme Court and is a member of and has practiced before the Fourth and Fifth United States Circuit Courts of Appeal and all South Carolina State and Federal courts. In addition, he is a regular speaker and presenter for Continuing Legal Education seminars and for various trade groups, including Community Associations Institute (CAI).
